Haniyah (Abdullah ibn Umair al-Kalbi’s Wife)
Just nine days after marrying, Abdullah (Wahab) and Haniyah joined to the Imam’s troop. They spent their honeymoon in Karbala among Imam Husain (PBUH) and his respectful family, and finally they martyred on the seventeenth day after they married.
Haniyah went before the bloody body of her husband after her brave husband, Wahab, got martyred. She was wiping off blood from his body and saying: “May the Paradise be enjoyable to you!”
Observing the lady, Shimr ordered his servant, Rustam to kill her. Rustam beat that new bride with a mace and killed her. Haniyah was the first and the only woman that martyred in the way of defending Imam Hussein (PBUH) in Karbala.
Wahab was 25 years old when he martyred. It was ten days that he and his family had accepted Islam. There were seventy wounds by sword, spear and axe on Wahab’s body.
