Arba’in means

By the definition, Arba’in means fortieth. Historically, Arba’in is the 20th ,Safar ( Forty days after Ashoura , 10th Moharam , when Emam Hossin have been martyred). Shikh Mofid and Shikh Tosi identify Arbain as the day when the family of Emam Hossin

,which they have been captured by Omar ibn Sad’s army in Ashoura , returned to Medina and also Jabr ibn Hayan Ansari , the first pilgrim of Emam Hossin , entered Karbala to respect him . Arbain is not holding for our Holy Prophet ,Emam Ali , nine others Emam whom were poisoned , and not even his mother that brought up Hossin but just for Emam Hossin.

Actually why ? What’s the question ?

To answer this question we must seek through the secrets of Arbai’n . Arbai’n is the efflorescence and maturity of Ashoura, an end to a tyranny dominance . Arbai’n is when Obidolah and Yazid’s majesty was smashed down, when a carevan , after crossing the way of Sham and Kofah under the rain of insults and falling of whipping, returned proudly .

Ashoura has protected the sanctum of Islam , given life to all excellences and immensities and in one word kept Islam alive. Arba’in is the integrity point of Ashoura , so respecting to Arba’in is respecting to Ashoura , and also to Islam . Since Hossine has all Prophet’s legacies, saluting his Arbai’n is saluting them all. In Arbain invocation we read : Hossin is not one , Hossin is all and Arbai’n is a day for all, for Holy Prophet , Emam Ali , Fatima and Hassan ……

In Karbala when Zeynab the great , sister of Emam Hossin and daughter of Emam Ali , reached at Death- trap and watched her brother ‘s wounded body, she said : Hossin is all, his blood represent all majesties. Holy prophet , Ali , Fatima and Hassan are in Hossin and his Ahoura. Hossin is one , but all and his Arbain is Arbain of all.

Hossin ‘s Arbain terminated three devastating , fallacious and depraved elements called ignorance , wonderment and depravity. In Arbain’s invocation, we read : Hossin devotedly sacrificed himself to release people from ignorance , wonderment and predicament.

Arbain is a day when aberration, wondering and disorientation came to an end and that’s what all Prophets had being sought. When Arba’in has all these targets to true and demonstrated the reality and great truth of Holly Quran , Why we do not respect it, annually.

In Arba’in , we again promise with Hossin. We promise to follow the directed path he showed us. Arba’in is a day to look at all accomplishments, beautifulness and virtues. A day for being in Karbala with alacrity. A day to review Ashoura event to keep ourselves in Karbala , with Karbala and acting according to Karbala School. Arbain is the day to make a decision, a decision to which we keep Ashoura alive in the world and in the life.
