DURATION OF THE JOURNEY: Around 5 days (from Rajab 28th until Sha’ban 3rd)

THE ARRIVAL AT MECCA: Imam Husain (PBUH) with the companions and fellows entered Mecca on Thursday night in Sha’ban 3rd while people and hajjis (pilgrims of Kaaba) had come to welcome them. ⁵⁴

THE WHISPER IN THE ENTRANCE: The Imam recited Verse 22, Chapter 28 (The Story):«و لمّا تَوَجِّه تلقاءَ مَدْيَنَ قالَ عسي ربّي أنْ يهديني سَواءَ السّبيل» (And when he turned his face towards Midian he said, It may be that my Lord will guide me on the right way.) ⁵⁵

THE ENTRANCE PLACE IN MECCA: Sheb of Ali district. Abbas ibn Abdulmutalib’s house ⁵⁶

THE IMPORTANT EVENT: The ruler of Mecca, Amr ibn Sa’eed Ashdaq, who was so proud and vain, wrote a letter to Yazid and reported the news of Aba Abdullah’s arrival at Mecca. ⁵⁷

IMAM HUSAIN’S PRAYER WHILE HE SAW KABA:

(اللّهم خُذْلي بِحَقّي و قَرّ عيني ربّ اَهْدِني سَواءَ السّبيل) ⁵⁸

THE MEETING OF AMR IBN SA’EED WITH IMAM HUSAIN (PBUH): Amr asked, “Why have you come here?” The Imam answered, “To resort to God and His House!” ⁵⁹

1. The pilgrimage to Kaaba   2. Visiting people   3. The pilgrimage to Lady Khadijah’s grave 4. Enlightening and delivering speeches ⁶⁰

THE DURATION OF STAYING IN MECCA: Months of Shaban, Ramadan, Shawwal, Dhu al-Qi’dah  and 8 days of Dhu al-Hijjah (totally 125 days) ⁶¹
