Ashura movement, because of its nature, has always been known as a pattern for democratic revolutions which are seeking to fight oppression, actualize the Islamic goals and reform the corrupted subjects. Islamic republic of Iran is one of kind of revolution originated from Ashura movement. Islamic revolution of Iran was duplicated from Ashura. This movement has been inspired both by the grant leader, Imam Khomeini, and Iranian society. Imam Khomeini, by the help of what Ashura learnt people, leaded this so-called democratic revolution. He (Imam Khomeini) called people to follow Quranic values. What motivated Iranian people to overthrow the then Iran regime was fighting oppression to find justice. They wanted to have a government based on justice, Quranic values and national independence. In other words, they wanted to call people to do what is good and to warn people not to do what is bad. That is what Imam Hossein wanted to implement. The Imam Khomeini’s crucial announcement on Bahman the 21st in 1357 was to vanquish the coup and state of siege. This announcement was to follow the Ashura’s path. On account of so-called announcement, people, adhering their grant leader, came to streets and broke Pahlavi’s regime down. Abbas Rastegar Far
