They left Hussein in Karbala;

They killed Hussein on Ashura;

Hussein’s brother, O’ Abbas

They cut your arms off, O’ Abbas

Hussein, Hussein, O’ Hussein:

No one to help

No one to help you for Islam;

No one to save

No one to save your family:

Little Ruqayya, little Sukayna,

They were alone, they were alone after you.

They killed your Asghar, your thirsty Asghar, infant son:

Your sister Zainab saw that time;

They killed your Akbar, your thirsty Akbar, elder son:
