Spring Lesson

Spring has come with flowers, breeze, beauty, and examples to learn from, with such great lessons that should be read and carved on the walls of our hearts and minds. Spring is the mentor of gratitude in practice: the earth expresses its gratitude to and presents flowers and blossoms for the water it has drunk, fountains express their gratitude and offer life to grass and trees for slaking its thirst in mountains, nightingales express their gratitude for seeing flowers by chanting. We should also express our gratitude to Him for the endowment of spring. We should tokens of our gratitude in practice.

Spring is the sky oriented growth and movement teacher. Did you know that ancient Iranians first celebrated Nowruz when  Solomon or Jamshid flied and it was this fly and earth abandonment  which formed the Great Nowruz celebration? We have learnt from Quran that those who do purify their souls will be redeemed and redemption includes both detaching and blooming as well as distancing one from the earth. We should say goodbye to the darkness of the earth like seeds celebrating their detachment from the earth; then we should say hello to the sun again.

If we learn the earth’s traditions, God will rain us with flowers and angles will offer us fruits of light. Remaining in earth is the same as decomposition and destruction. Those who perceive spring will not render themselves to this darkness and destruction. Still another lesson of spring is accompanying and sympathizing. Spring itself is the outcome of sympathy. Clouds and wind cooperate to bring about rain. The earth and seeds cooperate to bring flowers and trees to existence. Light and water cooperate to teach buds to blossom and yes drops cooperate to reflect the pure sound of life.

Let us accompany our hearts and steps to perceive the spring better. Spring lessons are affluent. The spring is reminder of the Resurrection, reappearance and emergence of Imam Mahdi, and every transformation, innovation, and growth. And we pledge our allegiance to dear Hussein(PBUH) to pursue his way and revive our allegiance to take sips of his culture into our mouth and being so that blooming, growing, and developing will be our eternal life tradition. Our spring is not when buds smile but when our dear Hussein smiles and it is then that we can embellish our spring and the sun will rise to take the revenge for the blood of the innocent in Ashura. We wish this year to be full of sympathy, accompaniment, growth, and sublimity.
