My heart repeats your name, Hossein, in every beat, in every beat; My mind reveals your aim Hossein, in every way, in every way;

O’ Hussein, your day’s the Day; O’ Hussein, your way’s the Way; O’ Hussein, your love’s the Love. O’ Hussein, you are the one whose light is never out;

O, You Nature! How Could You…? O, you Water! O, Water… What did you do to that Man & his family? How could you get so awesome, so cold, and yet so out of reach…? Why did you go so far…, why?

Hussein the Leader of mankind; Hussein the Master of martyrs; Hussein the Savior of Islam. Hussein, Hussein, O’ Hussein… They left Hussein in Karbala; They killed Hussein on Ashura; Hussein’s brother, O’ Abbas They cut your arms off, O’ Abbas Hussein, Hussein, O’ Hussein:

Sands were so hot, Sun was high, Enemies were too many And friends were so few… Swords, spears and arrows War, God and love Thirst by water: what it means; Blood and fire: how it wins;

The Orphans’ Eve Under this very sun All those tragic scenes of Ashura took place; Under this very moon Children of the martyrs wept for the loss of the previous night;
